Laundry Renovations Geelong
A workhorse room, built to take the daily grind.
The laundry is the most-used room nobody thinks about, until it's a mess of unorganised clutter and tired cabinets. I build laundries that are practical, hard-wearing and genuinely pleasant to use.
Storage and surfaces that actually hold up.
Across Geelong, Newtown, Highton and the Bellarine coast I take on laundry renovations and new laundries. It's a wet room, so it needs the same quality waterproofing and durable surfaces as a bathroom, plus cabinetry designed around what you actually store and use.
A good laundry is the difference between a chaotic corner of the house and a space that quietly does the work every day. I build them to last, not just to look new for a year.

Honest guidance on where your budget performs
How a laundry renovation runs.
A laundry is a small room that does a lot of work. It's wet, it's where appliances sit, and it usually hides the plumbing for the rest of the house. The order of the work really does matter.
- 1
Work out how you actually use it
Where the washer and dryer will sit, whether you want a tub, how much storage you need, and where the bench needs to be. Getting this right first avoids a room that looks fine but doesn't work.
- 2
Plumbing and power before anything else
Wet-area plumbing, taps, waste and power for appliances get set out and checked before walls close up. Moving a waste connection later means pulling the room apart again.
- 3
Waterproofing and tiling
Wet-area waterproofing applied to standard in the areas that need it, then tiling with the fall set correctly so water goes where it should rather than sitting against a wall.
- 4
Cabinetry, bench and finish
Hard-wearing cabinetry and bench installed and set level, appliances fitted and tested, and the room finished to match the rest of your home.

What drives the price of a laundry.
A laundry can be a straightforward refresh or a full strip back to the frame with new plumbing. The difference is mostly in what's already behind the walls.
Whether plumbing moves
Keeping the washer, tub and sink where they already are is the single biggest saving. Relocating a waste connection is real work under the floor.
Cabinetry and bench
Standard cabinetry with a laminate bench is one price. Custom joinery with a stone bench, overhead cupboards and a hanging rail is another.
Waterproofing and tiling
How much of the room is tiled, and whether the floor needs a new fall to a waste, changes both materials and labour.
Electrical work
Power for appliances, lighting, exhaust and any heated towel rail. Older homes often need the circuit brought up to standard at the same time.
Appliance and fixture choices
You can supply your own or I can fit what you choose. Both work; the cost is simply in what the fixtures are and how they're installed.
How much is being replaced
A cosmetic refresh keeping the existing layout is a very different job to a full gut where the frame, plumbing and wiring all get renewed.

What Geelong laundries usually need.
The laundry is the room most likely to have been left alone for forty years, and it shows in the same ways across the region.
The old rear lean-to
In Newtown, Geelong West, East Geelong and South Geelong, the laundry is often a lean-to off the back of the house, added later and never properly insulated or waterproofed. These need real work: lining, waterproofing and usually a new floor.
Bringing it indoors
A common job in Highton and Belmont is pulling the laundry in off the back porch and making it a proper internal room. That means new flooring, drainage and usually a door change, but it transforms how the back of the house works.
The Bellarine and the block problem
Coastal homes in Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads are often on tighter blocks where the laundry is small and awkward. Making a compact room genuinely functional with bench, hanging space and storage takes planning.
Most Geelong laundries I look at can be made genuinely good. Send me a photo of yours and I'll tell you what it needs.
