Morrissey Built is me, Ben Morrissey, a registered residential builder who takes on fewer projects so each one gets done the way it should be.
Six years in the trade, and every one of them on the tools.
I came into building the direct way: trade by trade, site by site, learning the work from the ground up. I qualified as a Registered Building Practitioner and now run my own jobs out of East Geelong.
Six or seven years isn't a lifetime in this industry, and I won't pretend otherwise. What it does mean is that every one of those years was spent on site rather than behind a desk, and that I've been building the standard I work to from the first job, not adding it on later.
Alongside that I hold a Diploma of Building and Construction and membership with Master Builders Victoria. They're not certificates on a wall. They're the standard I hold every job to.
The way I work is pretty simple: I take on fewer jobs, I manage them personally, and I don't cut corners to win a tender. That means I can promise things a busy volume builder can't: that your job gets my attention, not my leftovers.
A lot of my work comes back through the same suburbs I live and work in. Newtown, Geelong West, Highton, South Geelong, down the Bellarine. When I build something, it's not anonymous. It's a house I might drive past every day.

I've stood in enough half-finished homes to know where a renovation budget actually performs and where it quietly disappears. My job is to point that out to you before you spend, not after. A $500,000 renovation that puts the money where it matters beats a $700,000 one that spends it on the wrong things, every single time.

An active member of Master Builders Victoria, a builder who's accountable to more than just a job card.
Diploma of Building & Construction
Formally trained in the trade and the management side of building, so the build is right on site and on paper.
